East Coast Fun

Most of you know that Jack and I totally surprised my family with a 10 day field trip to the East Coast.
Kyla (Ky-Ky) and the Jackster have so much fun running around all day long. (She actually follows him around.....she is very protective.)

More pictures to come!!
p.s....thanks, babe for letting us play with the PA Provards for a little while. Miss you.

Almost to the day......

It is too crazy to see how different our little Chicklet acts....looks.....etc.....(I know all of you professional photographers can find oodles of reasons why I shouldn't post these pics---slightly blurry.....but he runs really fast!!....:)
No swimming lessons today......Branson kids can't learn......we can't swim.....:(
Looks like the LOST marathon must continue......hopefully SPRING will come soon.

Arctic and Aquatic

Well, it has been a couple of days.....all of you Missourians know that we have just been praying for the power to stay on--what is up with the weather??!!??

We have had some fun inside....watching Jack run around and keeping up the non-stop, weeklong LOST marathon...that's right---we are diving into the LOST mania. My sissie and brother-in-law gave us Season 1 and 2 on DVD. The show is really addictive!!!

Next--we finally got out on Friday---BIG swim day. I know what you are thinking. Jack is 13 months and how BIG can swim lessons get?? Well, Jack went UNDER the water---as in, the entire portion of his little head--seven times...yep seven times yesterday!!! It sounds scary but it really is quite simple....while you are under the direction of a qualified swim instructor.

This is Jack and Hayden....Cora is also taking lessons with us, but her dad had her in the deep end while this picture was taken.

13 months--yesterday...

I cannot believe Jack is 13 months!! Other moms have always told me that time flies....but it really, really does.

It is crazy to think about what has happened over the past 13 months and even before that. Once you are pregnant and have a baby, it is hard to remember the times before you were pregnant. (really, your mind just turns into a blur...the baby sucks it right out of you..:) As in, I can't even believe that it has been over nine months since I was working in an office. I am so thankful that Andrew is working and I get to run around with Jack. Those moms who work are amazing!

I have really been reflecting on 2007. People come and go.....friends always shift, but not in a bad way. Babies just change everything. That is what I have learned. But, the most important thing is family and learning to always be flexible. Well, trying to always be flexible. And friends are also important and communication. Basically, there are many important things, but the most important is being flexible and not sweating the small stuff. (i know some of you are smiling at this because i do tend to get worked up over the small stuff) I am a work in progress.

Check it

A day of FIRSTS.........

Jack's first day at the zoo.....that's right...it was 70 degrees and we had fun with the cousins!

Kate, my sissie-in-law, had her first day bringing all FOUR of her kids to Springfield....the youngest usually hates the car, but now she is finally through that stage...(note, she is not pictured above..)

Jack's first time to use a different sippie cup other than his straw sippie cup...(I know that sounds silly, but we own every kind of sippie cup that is carried by Target....it is just a relief now that he will actually drink out of all of them!!)

The first time my husband and I were startled at 10pm by a huge crash...as in, a car rolling itself a couple of times, just yards from our house.....yep, Waterford and NN....there were at least 10 cars that stopped just to watch and make sure everyone was ok and even more neighbors that left their houses to walk over to the scene to make sure no one was harmed...(they looked ok from our house)

The first time Jack and I witnessed an accident on Glenstone.....that's right, two accidents total yesterday....where the people hit had to be removed from their car on a backboard.....but I do believe they were all ok.....(note: NEVER drive on Glenstone with children in your car...it is just scary..)

Snow Smiles

I am sure that everyone had some fun with all of the snow...yep, all 4 inches!!! We played outside for a little while before one little man had his naps. No two days are the same in napville.
It is really interesting how different types of weather effects different states. Where I was raised....Philly-y'all...even if we had 8-10 inches, you knew we would be in school. Those snow plows and ice trucks would be out for hours upon hours to make sure the roads were completely clear. So, we would never be off, we would always get a two hour delay...which worked well, you could sleep in for two more hours! Therefore, we never prayed for snow---we prayed for ICE!! Everyone in Missouri knows about ICE--we won't even go there, it was only last year....So, it is fun to watch every school in the state get canceled, when really, everything is melting right now. (I am a little sad, our first swimming lessons were supposed to be today...but, next week we will make some waves).
Needless to say, we had fun in the snow yesterday, fun with my husband at home since the Branson hills were not looking so good, fun with Sinnocrack watching Friends all afternoon, and more fun watching LOST---did anyone see that??!!??? (it was our first time, we are Survivor people).
